Summary: Under the direction of the HIM Manager, the Senior HIM Integrity Specialist is responsible for leading HIM integrity operations. This includes ongoing monitoring and resolution of patient identity issues, duplicate medical record numbers, documentation errors, patient overlays, record amendments and other issues that fall within the organization’s EMR change management protocols. Will prepare and validate committee reports, identify trends, and monitor the corrective action and ensure timely follow up. Will monitor the completeness and timeliness of documentation in accordance with TJC and CMS standards as part of integrity functions.
Education: Associate Degree in Health Information Technology preferred or equivalent experience.
Software/Hardware: Microsoft products, Meditech
Experience: Three years of HIM integrity experience in acute care facility preferred. An ability to lead and oversee complex integrity issues, conduct root cause analysis, assess risk level and advise on corrective action. Blend integrity responsibilities with technical operations and creative problem-solving skills. Thorough knowledge of medical records systems, Joint Commission and State and Federal regulations. Must be a self-starter and have ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
