Job Summary:
The Volunteer and Program Coordinator (VPC) plays the key role of delivering curriculum and programming in group and one-on-one settings to support clients get ready for, find, and keep a job. Sample programming includes creating resumes/cover letters, conducting practice interviews, and submitting online job applications with clients. The (VPC) will support volunteer recruitment and oversee all volunteer coordination and volunteer training activities at Chrysalis’ Inland Empire office. To provide excellent customer service to clients, the position will be in-person.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Direct Service Delivery
- Facilitation of job readiness classes.
- Facilitation of New Client Orientations.
- Provide one-on-one resume preparation, practice interview, and cover letter services.
- Help clients apply to jobs online,
- Assist clients working in the computer lab who may need extra assistance,
- Collaborate in the design and development of job readiness materials for Chrysalis training programs.
- Support client and community events, including recruiting and supporting volunteers and various day-of activities.
Volunteer Recruitment, Coordination, Training, and Engagement
- Maintain close communication with all IE volunteers and provide direct support on a daily basis, including addressing day-to-day emails, inquiries, and needs.
- Screen, onboard and train new volunteers regularly. Evaluate volunteer performance on an ongoing basis, giving direct feedback, and following up with additional training as needed.
- Provide support for special events, volunteer engagement activities, and day of service events, working collaboratively across teams, and with external stakeholders.
- Handle cross-functional communication and support across all Chrysalis sites, and support staff, clients, and volunteers.
Customer Service and Administration
- Oversee and manage volunteer schedules to ensure full coverage of scheduled programming.
- Collaborate with the Client Services team, attending team meetings and maintaining active communication about volunteers and client training activities.
- Ensure up-to-date and complete tracking of volunteer activities, client service transactions, and case notes in Chrysalis data systems.
- Oversight and management of donations and inventory for resource room, which includes interview clothing, lunches, and hygiene kits.
General Duties
- Adhere to all Chrysalis policies and procedures.
- Support the Chrysalis Mission and adhere to the Chrysalis Code of Ethics.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Teaching/facilitation/training experience or equivalent.
- Comfortable speaking to crowds and communicating with a wide variety of audiences.

- Strong organizational and time management skills.

- Computer literacy required. Must be proficient in Internet research, Word, Excel and PowerPoint programs and be willing to learn other applications as needed, including Salesforce.

- Willingness to travel to meetings and other offices as necessary. Mileage reimbursed.
