Overview
Responsible for the setup, break down, and delivery of internal banquet event orders for VIP events, Player Development planned events and various employee meetings and trainings.
Responsibilities
- Sets up and breaks down banquet event orders according to type of event and service standards.
- Responsible for assisting with multiple events on a given day.
- Responsible for preparing banquet orders to ensure delivery times are met.
- Delivers banquet event orders in a timely manner.
- Ensures food and beverage areas are clean and properly set up for all events.
- Sets up hot and cold stations according to standards.
- Ensures proper plates, utensils, napkins, cups and other non-food items are provided in appropriate quantities.
- Maintains constant communication with the Banquet Team in order to fulfill, replenish, replace, and refresh orders during the durations of each event.
- Provides exceptional guest service and attends to guests needs and requests during event to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Maintains professionalism during entire duration of events and when interacting with attendees and other Team Members.
- Follows safety standards and procedures.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of banquet rooms, hallways, and storage and service areas.
- Assists with training Special Event Workers at VIP events.
- Assists servers during events as needed.
- Assists with the management of events in the absence of the Banquet Supervisor and/or Banquet Manager.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
- Previous experience in banquet services or related experience preferred.
- Ability to carry large and heavy trays on a continuous basis throughout a shift.
- Excellent guest service skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated patience and tact.
- Must be able to read and follow directions.
- Must be able to communicate clearly with Banquet Team and internal customers.
- Exceptional detail, time-management and follow-up skills.
- Must be a team player.
- Must be able to multi-task.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain composure at times of high volume.
- Must be able to work under pressure and balance multiple priorities and assignments to meet deadlines.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to uphold department and company standards of etiquette and guest service while in the presence of guests and other Team Members.
- Must obtain food handler card within 30 days of employment.
- Must obtain mandatory alcohol sales and handling training within 30 days of employment and must be retrained every two years.
- Must be 21 years of age or older to sell or serve distilled spirits. Team Members under 21 but at least 18 years of age may sell or serve beer and wine in non-gaming areas.
- Must possess a valid CA Driver’s License.
- Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.
- Native American hiring preference applies.
