Job Description:

• Must be able to work in a greenhouse and outdoor Garden Center Environment.
• Excellent customer service attitude and constant willingness to communicate with customers and coworkers in a tram environment.
• Maintain live plant stock by watering, pruning, and deadheading plant material while proactively engaging and assisting customers.
• Assist Managers in plant displays as needed.
• Must be able to physically withstand repetitively standing, walking, bending, kneeling, lifting, and occasional climbing within an 8-hour shift.
• Willing and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including high heat.
• Unload delivery trucks, quickly efficiently, and carefully.
• Willingness to learn and be knowledgeable about our products and their location on the property.
• Have a positive attitude!
• Maintains standard of cleanliness and organization.
• Being able to take direction and see tasks to their completion.
• Be self-motivated and take initiative to carry out day-to-day tasks.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Desired B.S. or A.S. in Horticulture, Floriculture, Biology or related field.
• Knowledge of Garden Center Plant material selections (ex. Annuals, Perennials and Trees and Shrubs.) watering, disease prevention, and growing conditions.
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to communicate with customers, associates, and managers effectively.
• Be able to work in all weather conditions including high heat.
• Be able to lift weight/move items up to 50lbs
• Positive attitude and 'Get it Done' Attitude.
• Eagerness to stay up to date on trends and products in the garden center or nursery industry.
• Ability to stay physically active during the 8-hour shift.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends, holidays, and overtime, as necessary.

Reports to: Annuals Department Manager / Perennials Department Manager

Benefits: 30% Employee discount after one year of employment

Salary: $15-18 an hour. Pay is subject to experience.

Schedule: Seasonal Part-time (minimum of 3 full days a week) or Full-time (5 days a week), 9 a.m.-5 p.m. April through December. Working one weekend day is mandatory during peak season.

Location: All work must be performed onsite at Churchill’s Garden Center in Exeter, NH. Remote work is not an option.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week

• Weekends as needed
