What You'll Do


  • Coordinate claims operations and modifications with other areas of the organization 
  • Monitors workflow to achieve established goals and objectives 
  • Responsible for abiding by all guidelines, procedures, and policies 
  • Learning and applying knowledge of medical claim/bill payment processing and medical regulations
  • Utilize knowledge of organizational policies and procedures to ensure adherence to contractual agreements and non-contracted pricing arrangements along with compliance with government regulations
  • Processing and submitting claims to insurance carriers
  • Accounts receivable to include following up on outstanding balances, posting payments and determining related to copays, coinsurance and deductibles 
  • Research denials and adjusting/resubmitting as necessary 
  • Taking and returning patient calls; answer client phone billing calls professionally and respond to client inquiries and complaints
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance; review and confirm that all client information is complete and up to date
  • Identify the needs of customers, resolve issues and provide solutions; identify, escalate priority issues and report to senior management
  • Communicate assertively and respectfully with therapists on a consistent basis to provide excellent customer service
  • Researches inquiries, appeals, and denials on claims that are past 30 days old; assures timeliness and appropriateness of claim denials and follow up
  • Communicates directly with families and providers to request more information and provide updates and resolution 
  • Requests, obtains, and documents detailed invoices as needed to assist with research
  • Assists in the coordination of problem solving for interdepartmental issues in an efficient and timely manner
  • Engages in clinic and discipline/department activities, such as clinic or team meetings, discipline meetings and staff training days as applicable
  • Uphold CI Missions and values and follows CI policies & procedures as outlined in the employee handbook, processes manuals, and other internal documents/forms of communication
  • Maintain a clean and functional work space(s)
  • Other duties as assigned


What You'll Need To Be Successful


  • Working knowledge of the following:
    • Procedure and diagnosis coding 
    • Medical terminology
    • Reimbursement practices
  • Experience in billing third party payer 
  • Ability to efficiently use medical billing software 
  • The ability to recognize individual and system problems and to communicate such information to the supervisor 
  • Commitment to consumer and medical center confidentiality
  • Required Skills:
    • Excellent time management 
    • Strong, professional and adaptable communication skills 
    • Collaborative when appropriate, yet able to independently complete responsibilities 
    • Flexible in a fast-paced environment 
    • Solution focused mindset
  • Demonstrate continued dedication to CI, position expectations, and team members
  • Maintain an up to date CPR certification.


Working Conditions


  • Clinic/office setting
  • 40 hours within time frame of Monday-Friday, 8am-6pm
  • Job Type: Full-time
