JOB TITLE: Security Officer (Hospitality/Hotel)
DEPARTMENT: Security Operations
REPORTS TO: Security Field Supervisor
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
HOURS PER WEEK: 35 - 40 (Overtime Eligible)
SCHEDULE: Sunday – Thursday, 11pm – 6am

CIM Security provides security guard staffing, threat assessment, catastrophe management and personal defense training in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, Rhode Island, and Connecticut.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a security officer in the Hospitality/Hotel Services industry, you would be responsible for access control, de-escalation of incidents, loss prevention, incident response, customer service, visitor management, surveillance, incident reporting, compliance with regulations, and ongoing training to maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and client staff.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Access control: Controlling access to the premises by verifying identification, checking credentials, and maintaining a log of visitors, guests, or patients entering or leaving the facility. Enforcing access control policies and procedures to prevent unauthorized access.
- De-escalation of incidents: Effectively de-escalating incidents involving guests, visitors, or patients who may be agitated, upset, or engaging in disruptive behavior. Utilizing conflict resolution techniques, active listening, and empathy to calm situations and diffuse potential conflicts.
- Loss prevention: Preventing theft, vandalism, or other losses by monitoring and patrolling designated areas, conducting security inspections, and identifying and addressing potential security risks or vulnerabilities.
- Incident response: Responding to incidents such as medical emergencies, disturbances, or security breaches in a prompt and effective manner. Coordinating with emergency services, following established protocols, and providing first aid or assistance as needed.
- Customer service: Providing exceptional customer service to guests or visitors, by greeting and assisting them in a courteous and helpful manner. Responding to inquiries, providing information, and addressing concerns or issues professionally and promptly.
- Surveillance: Utilizing surveillance equipment, such as cameras or monitoring systems, to observe and monitor activity in designated areas to detect and prevent security breaches, theft, or suspicious behavior.
- Incident reporting: Maintaining accurate and detailed written records of incidents, observations, and other relevant information. Writing incident reports, completing logs, and documenting incidents in a timely and thorough manner for investigative, legal, or operational purposes.
- Training and education: Staying updated on security protocols, de-escalation techniques, and other relevant training to effectively carry out job responsibilities and ensure the safety and security of guests, visitors, or patients.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- 1 years of experience as a Security Officer or Security Guard
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of access control and security equipment
- Familiarity with report writing
- Communication and observation skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Valid Driver’s License
- De-Escalation Training

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
