Cimarron is seeking a Propulsion Test Engineer to support the development of the CST-100 Starliner, a spacecraft supporting NASA's Commercial Crew Program in Titusville, FL.
The selected candidate for this position must be able to support 1st and 2nd shift assignments.
Key Duties
- Perform leak checks and operate high-pressure fluid systems for spacecraft testing.
- Work with hypergolic propellants and ensure safe handling procedures.
- Support spacecraft test engineering activities, ensuring test plan and safety protocols adherence.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to troubleshoot and optimize system performance.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education :
- Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
- Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use.
- This is a sensitive/safety-sensitive position and is subject to DOT random drug and alcohol testing.
- 5 or more years of propulsion-related fluids test engineering experience on spacecraft.
- Ability to support 1st and 2nd shift assignments, and overtime.
- Experience loading hypergolic propellants or performing test operations on hypergol-contaminated systems.
- Experience with leak checking spacecraft fluid systems.
- Experience developing procedures for leak checks and functional testing of hypergolic propellant systems.
- Experience operating high-pressure pneumatic equipment for flight hardware pressurization.
- Experience leading technicians, QA personnel, and test engineers during test execution.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for resolving non-conformances on ground support and flight hardware.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Current or previous non-Destructive Test (NDT) Leak Test certification.
- Current or previous SCAPE/SAR certification.
