Vacation Planner (Sales Consultant – Reservations)

Job Type: Full-Time

Reports To: Sales Center Manager

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Vacation Planner is a relationship-driven sales role responsible for creating and booking personalized vacation experiences for guests of Cinnamon Shore. This position is ideal for someone who excels at building trust quickly, managing multiple conversations at once, and confidently guiding guests toward decisions that enhance their vacation.

This is not a transactional reservations job. Successful Vacation Planners act as personal vacation consultants — listening carefully, recommending thoughtfully, and following through consistently. Performance is measured by conversion, revenue, quality of bookings, and repeat business.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Handle a high volume of inbound and outbound sales calls, emails, and text messages
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with guests and guide them through vacation planning decisions
  • Sell complete vacation experiences, including accommodations and on-site and local experiences
  • Confidently close sales using a consultative, relationship-first approach
  • Conduct follow-up outreach to encourage repeat bookings and long-term guest loyalty
  • Accurately manage reservations and guest information across internal systems
  • Meet or exceed sales, conversion, and revenue performance goals
  • Collaborate with guest services and operations teams to ensure guest expectations are met or exceeded

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES (KSAO-ALIGNED)

Knowledge

  • Ability to learn and retain Cinnamon Shore accommodations, amenities, pricing, and policies
  • Understanding of the full sales cycle from inquiry through follow-up and rebooking

Skills

  • Strong consultative sales and closing skills
  • Clear, confident verbal and written communication
  • Effective time management and follow-up discipline
  • Ability to personalize recommendations rather than rely on scripts

Abilities

  • High cognitive flexibility — switching between guests, systems, and tasks efficiently
  • Strong working memory and attention to detail
  • Emotional intelligence and stress tolerance in a fast-paced sales environment

Other Characteristics

  • Achievement-oriented and motivated by performance goals
  • Warm, professional, guest-focused demeanor
  • Reliable, coachable, and team-oriented

TECHNICAL & COMPUTER PROFICIENCY (REQUIRED)

  • High proficiency using computers in a sales environment
  • Ability to manage multiple software programs simultaneously, including reservation systems, CRMs, and email platforms
  • Comfortable working across multiple screens/monitors
  • Proficient in multi-channel communication (phone, email, and text), often at the same time
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new tools and systems

SCHEDULE & WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • In-person, phone-based sales role
  • Fast-paced, high-interruption environment
  • Weekend and holiday availability required on a rotating basis

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Base Pay: $18 per hour (based on experience)
  • Commission & Bonuses: Performance-based commission with additional incentives for exceeding goals
  • Target Total Compensation:
  • Average performers: $48k
  • High performers: $50

Benefits Include:

  • 401(k) with company match
  • Health, dental, vision, and life insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Employee discounts
  • Sales training, coaching, and growth opportunities

WHO THIS ROLE IS A GREAT FIT FOR

  • Sales professionals who enjoy relationship-building and closing
  • Individuals who thrive in fast-paced, performance-driven environments
  • People who take pride in helping guests create exceptional vacation experiences

THIS ROLE MAY NOT BE A FIT IF YOU…

  • Prefer scripted or purely transactional work
  • Are uncomfortable with sales goals or closing conversations
  • Struggle with multitasking across systems and communication channels
