Job Description
Position Summary
The Drafter is responsible for producing accurate 3D models, drawings, and technical documentation for gas measurement equipment and related systems. This role requires proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and the ability to interpret engineering information to support fabrication and project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Drafting
· Create 3D models and detailed fabrication drawings using Autodesk Inventor.
· Prepare drawings, layouts, and assemblies for gas measurement equipment and related piping systems.
· Update and maintain drawing files, templates, and standard components as needed.
· Ensure drawings align with company standards, project specifications, and customer requirements.
Technical Support
· Interpret engineering data, P&IDs, and technical specifications to develop accurate designs.
· Support engineering and production teams by providing clear and complete drawing packages.
· Assist with drawing revisions, redlines, and document updates throughout the project lifecycle.
Project Coordination
· Work closely with engineers, project managers, and production personnel to meet project schedules.
· Provide timely updates and deliverables to support ongoing projects.
· Assist with compiling drawing packages and technical documentation.
Quality & Compliance
· Review drawings for accuracy, clarity, and completeness.
· Maintain proper revision control and documentation practices.
· Ensure drawings meet applicable industry standards when required (API, ASME, AGA, etc.).
Qualifications
Experience
· 2–5 years of drafting and design experience preferred.
· Experience in gas measurement, oil & gas, or industrial/process equipment is a plus but not required.
Technical Skills
· Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor.
· Basic understanding of piping layouts, mechanical components, and fabrication drawings.
· Familiarity with AutoCAD and CAD file management systems is preferred.
Education
· Associate degree in Drafting, Mechanical Design, or a related field preferred.
· Equivalent industry experience will be considered.
Skills & Abilities
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
· Good communication and collaboration skills.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Preferred (Not Required)
· Exposure to fabrication or manufacturing environments.
· Experience creating bills of materials (BOMs).
· Familiarity with gas measurement or metering equipment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
