Walk Alongside New Beginnings.We are seeking a dedicated Resettlement Case Manager to provide in-person support, social services, and acculturation assistance to Afghan Humanitarian Parolees, Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) holders, refugees, and other eligible immigrant populations.This role focuses on supporting individuals and families after their initial resettlement period, helping them identify needs, set goals, and build the skills and connections required for long-term stability and independence. This position is ideal for someone who is hands-on, compassionate, highly organized, and committed to relationship-based work.Salary: $44,000Please note: This is a fully on-site role serving clients in the community. It is not a hybrid or remote position.What You’ll DoDirect Client Support & AdvocacyProvide ongoing, intensive, in-person case management and advocacy servicesConduct self-sufficiency assessments and collaborate with clients to set realistic goals and action stepsDeliver core services, including: Employment supportBenefits and public assistance navigationESL enrollment and coordinationAssistance with medical appointments and follow-up careMake appropriate referrals to community resources that support integration and independenceProvide transportation to clients as needed to ensure access to servicesCommunity Integration & AcculturationSupport clients in understanding and navigating U.S. systems and community normsAssist with practical needs, including apartment set-up and household organization when requiredBuild trusting relationships that respect cultural context, trauma histories, and individual strengthsCompliance, Documentation & Team CollaborationLearn and comply with all applicable state, local, and federal program requirementsMaintain timely, accurate case notes, documentation, and reports to meet federal auditing standardsBecome proficient in multiple database systems used for tracking services and outcomesAttend weekly supervision meetings and participate in annual performance evaluationsCollaborate closely with supervisors, colleagues, and external service providersSchedule & Work EnvironmentServices are delivered in person throughout New Haven and BridgeportSome evening or after-hours work may be required to meet client needsRole includes physical activity such as assisting with apartment set-up and moving household itemsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in a related field (social work, education, anthropology, psychology, international studies, women’s studies, public health, or similar)At least 2 years of client-facing experience and/or 1 year working with vulnerable or underserved populationsFamiliarity with Afghan culture and resettlement experiencesStrong organizational, communication, and prioritization skillsExceptional interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with diverse teams and service providersProficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using client databasesReliable vehicle, valid U.S. driver’s license, and active auto insuranceAbility to assist with physical tasks related to housing set-upFlexibility to accommodate occasional after-hours servicesVerbal fluency in Dari and/or Pashto strongly preferredWhy This Role MattersResettlement doesn’t end after arrival.
