What are the responsibilities and job description for the Component Engineering Technical Leader position at Cisco Systems, Inc.?

What You'll Do
  • Act as technical interface between component/production suppliers and development engineers. Evaluate suppliers' overall quality management system (QMS) including technical and manufacturing capabilities and working collaboratively with vendors to manage the development of new process technologies and next-generation architectures in alignment with Cisco design architecture.
  • Develop guidelines/procedures on component and vendor selection and maintaining component data management system including qualification records/ results/ documentation.
  • Support engineering teams to characterize functionality and performance.
Who You'll Work With

You will work with Passive, Discrete and Logic (PDL) Component Engineering Group, within Technology and Quality (T&Q) Group, Cisco Business Units, Extended Supply Chain organization functions including Global Supply Management, Product Operations and Global Manufacturing Organization and PDL Suppliers

Who You Are

You are driven, organized, detail oriented, adept at driving actions, resolving conflicts and communicates with ease at all levels. You possess strong communication and strong interpersonal skills.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering
  • 5 years of electronic product development experience
  • Solid understanding of passives, discrete and logic components and their associated component properties, manufacturing processes, process control and test strategies.
  • Knowledge of product design, development, fabrication, characterization, qualification, testing, quality, and reliability.
Preferred Requirements
  • 10 years of electronic product development experience
  • Supply chain and Manufacturing experience is preferred.
