Your primary role, as a superintendent, is to facilitate the communication, coordination and cooperation of all concerned (Project Partners) towards the common objective – COMPLETION OF THE PROJECT: On Time; Under Budget; Exceeding Quality Expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Managing all subcontractors on the project. Work through conflicts, using a high level of collaboration and communication. Ensure adherence to schedule and project quality expectations, and specifications.
- You will be responsible for turning in daily reports and 4-corner project photos each day via Procore.
- Understand and Manage the construction schedule. You will be responsible for providing a 2-week look ahead, each week to the entire team, based on a construction schedule that you help create. You will be responsible for setting, reporting on, and hitting interim milestones.
- Be self sufficient. If a need arises for information, materials and /or supplies, give every effort to procure it locally, before calling the project manager to help locate. Once located, the project manager or administrator can make payment arrangements if needed.
- Monitor work daily to ensure adherence to plans and specifications. Although the subcontractors are assumed to be competent and well researched in relation to the plans, it is your responsibility to catch mistakes, which are inevitable, and make corrections. You are required to understand and know the construction drawings in detail.
- Manage Material Deliveries
- Maintain a professional jobsite, which means organizing materials as they are brought to job, enforcing a strict cleaning policy. Project partners are to be responsible for their work areas and to remove any construction debris related to their trade daily.
- Work with each municipality, or jurisdiction to schedule inspections, taps, utility work, work through issues to resolution, and facilitate any required interaction.
- Work with local and regional utility / energy companies to ensure we are getting utilities per our schedule. Facilitate communication, scheduling and collaboration with these organizations.
- Solve problems. Be creative. Use your experience to solve problems and work through challenges.
