Job Description
We are looking for an energetic, positive, and hard-working individual to fill a Teller position at our North Office. This location is open Mon-Fri from 8:00 am - 5:30 pm and Saturday 8:00 am - 12:00 pm. Saturday hours are on a self-schedule, rotation, basis.
SUMMARY
Tellers are responsible for greeting individuals as they enter the bank. A Teller is going to make the first impression as people enter the bank. We expect that first impression to be professional, pleasant and welcoming. A Teller should provide quality, efficient and accurate service to our customers and internal staff. A Teller is responsible for meeting the needs of our diverse customer base. The Teller position rarely requires more than an eight hour day and sometimes less. A Teller may be scheduled to work on Saturday. Y
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Job functions of the tellers include the following:
- ACCURACY – Balance transactions, cash drawer and reports by the pre-determined cut-off time.
- CUSTOMER SERVICE – Assist customers with transactions and questions regarding their account and other bank products in a timely and efficient manner.
- ACCOUNT & SERVICE KNOWLEDGE – Possess broad knowledge of bank services to direct customers to correct bank personnel.
- EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE – Operate various machines according to location, i.e. coin and currency counters and ATMS.
- SOFTWARE KNOWLEDGE – Understand and use various banking software applications.
- OTHER DUTIES- As requested by management.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
- COMMUNICATION -Bank employees must be able to read, write, and comprehend internal and external correspondence. The need for effective communication in person, via telephone and through e-mail is vital. Employees need to effectively present information one-on-one and in small group situations.
- MATHEMATIC-Bank employees are expected to be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers and decimals.
- ANALYTICAL-Bank employees should be able to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Employees thought process and actions should reflect a high level of attention to detail.
- TECHNOLOGY-Bank employees should have a basic understanding of computer use, word processing, spreadsheets, and email. Employees are expected to be able to learn new software, hardware and cyber security best practices that apply to their job.
- PHYSICAL-Bank employees may be required to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time. Employees may be required to lift as much as 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE-The expected educational or experience level requirement will be based on several factors including but not limited to previous experience, prior training, and job functions. Employees will be expected to complete required training for industry and job related functions.
