Permit Coordinator
Location: Long Beach, CA
City Light & Power (CLP) is a company at the forefront of the modern-day electric utility industry. We are a Subcontractor for a major utility provider in Southern California. CLP is growing and we're seeking a Permit Coordinator to join our expanding permitting team. We are looking for a candidate that demonstrates keen attention to detail who can prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Overview:
The Permit Coordinator will review all new work and determine permitting needs based on jurisdiction and agency requirements, to take all necessary steps to acquire required permit(s) and collaborate with field group scheduling to ensure adherence to permit stipulations. Candidate should be a self-starter, organized, able to prioritize deadlines and possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complete permit application and any additional required forms as required by given jurisdiction.
- Monitor permit progress and regularly follow up with agencies on the phone or through email.
- Submit payment and update database with cost information and documentation.
- Document communication with jurisdictions on permit statuses.
- Work in collaboration with field group to regarding changes or obstacles to workflow.
- Notify agencies of scheduled work per permit stipulations.

Skills and Qualifications:
- Prior experience with city/county permitting process is preferred, but not required.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Organizational and digital filing skills.
- Able to meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to type 40 WPM.
- Intermediate proficiency of Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office and Outlook preferred.
- Excellent customer service and strong written and verbal communication skills.
Work Location: Long Beach, CA
Schedule:
- Full-time, 6:00am to 2:30pm, Monday-Friday
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
- You must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
- Valid Driver’s License required
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly: $24.00 to $26.50 based on experience
