Job Announcement:
Under general supervision, the purpose of this position is to support, and assist in the administration of all aquatic programs, activities, and special events for the Alvin Community. Provides customer service, assists in training and support staff and volunteers in the aquatics division. This position may include service or duties different from those performed in the usual course and scope of the job during emergency situations for the benefit of the public. The specialist is under the direct supervision of the Aquatics Manger. The Rec Specialist- Aquatics will support full and part-time staff, volunteers, and organizations. This includes seasonal and part-time aquatic staff and instructors.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma/GED plus 2 years of Aquatics experience, entry level supervisory experience a plus.
- NIMS IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, IS-800
- Required certifications (current or ability to obtain)
- Red Cross CPR and First Aid
- Red Cross Lifeguard certification
- Red Cross WSI certification
- Certified Pool Operator or equivalent
- Desirable Certifications
- Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor
- Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP)
Salary:
Starting Salary: $15.99 an hour
