Why Work for the City of Anna? Pay commensurate with experience.The City of Anna offers an entry-level, lateral-pay incentive for FF/Paramedics and certified Police Officers with prior fulltime paid experience.Certified Police Officers: Time spent in an academy, correctional service, or time as a military police officer, will not qualify as time in service for our lateral entry program.Laterals shall enter the pay scale based on their years of fulltime Police Officer experience.Applicants with three (3) or more years of fulltime paid experience may qualify to start at STEP-2 of the City of Anna Fire Department or Police Department step plan. Applicants with five (5) or more years of fulltime paid experience may qualify to start at STEP-3. Applicants wishing to be considered for lateral entry may be asked to provide copies of their performance evaluations for their last three (3) years of fulltime experience. Consideration of lateral entry will be granted on a case-by-case basis following a review of the candidate’s application, Personal History Statement and supplied performance evaluations for the fulltime service experience.
