Maintenance Operations Worker

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and polishes floors; washes walls, windows and woodwork;
cleans restrooms, bleachers, locker rooms; dusts, removes rubbish and waste paper;
clean up of any bodily fluids as required.

· Polices exits during public events and responsible for locking and securing the building
after an event.

· Monitors and adjust heating and cooling of rooms as required.

· Assists in the set up and taking down of function rooms for special events; arranges
tables and chairs; sets up audio visual equipment for events.

· Performs basic preventive maintenance on building and equipment including bleachers,
tables, bathrooms, chairs, staging, concession areas and kitchen equipment.

· Performs minor vehicle maintenance on equipment such as fork lift, floor sweeper,
audio visual equipment and light duty cleaning equipment.

· Prepares auditorium for events including set up of stages, risers, barricades, chairs,
tables, portable basketball court, basketball goals, etc.

· Ensures auditorium doors are opened on scheduled time for all events.

· Operates forklift, floor sweeper and wide variety of hand tools.

· All other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED:

· Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, benefits, repair, and
maintenance.

· Knowledge of hand and power tools, equipment, materials, methods and practices as
related to work and of the hazards and safety precautions necessary in general labor
and maintenance work.

· Skill in controlling operations of equipment or systems.

· Skill in determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.

· Ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects.

· Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions, plans, sketches, and
drawings.

· Ability to interact effectively with coworkers and provide excellent customer service to
the public.

Ability to identify common occupational hazards and utilize safe work practices.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.45 - $24.16 per hour
