What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Sanitation Worker position at City of Bay City?
- Please note: these positions will not be hired directly by the City, however referred to a Temporary Agency to complete the application/hiring process.
All positions are summer/temporary, non-union, with no benefits.
Sanitation Worker (CDL): (approximate dates: April 1 - November 30)
Heavy manual work in the collection of solid waste, recycling, and yard waste material. May operate solid waste disposal collection truck along established routes. Work involves picking up of refuse, recycling materials, or special materials at homes and businesses in a safe and efficient manner. Takes waste to landfill or recycling center and deposits materials as directed.
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Possession of valid CDL-B with airbrakes endorsement OR valid State of Michigan CDL Temporary Instruction Permit (TIP) required at time of appointment.
Possession of valid State of Michigan MDOT Medical certification at time of appointment.
