SUMMARY
Performs labor and activities to install, maintain, repair, service, and relocate water and wastewater facilities by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Maintains and repairs elements of the water distribution system, such as water quality, pipes and lines, valves, fire hydrants and meters.
2. Maintains and repairs elements of the sanitary sewer collection system such as mains, manholes and clean outs.
3. Locates City water, sewer, and storm water facilities in order to comply with Texas 811 locate requests from franchise utilities, contractors and citizens.
4. Operates and services equipment such as jetter trucks, backhoes, front end loaders, skid steers, television inspection devices and other equipment used in repair and maintenance of water and wastewater facilities.
5. Performs daily checkout and check‑in of materials, equipment, supplies, vehicles and tools as instructed.
6. Cleans the wastewater collection system on a monthly and yearly schedule.
7. Installs sewer taps and repairs or replaces damaged manhole rings and covers.
8. Assists the Crew Leader or Supervisor in maintaining proper job site safety.
9. Assists other divisions of the Public Works Department as needed, including standby and emergency call back.
10. Will perform other assignments and handle special projects as required.
11. Regular and timely attendance is required as well as the ability to get along with others in a professional and cordial manner.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma / (GED) plus three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid Texas Driver's License.
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a Texas Class A Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsement within 8 months of hire.
Must obtain a TCEQ Class I Wastewater Collection License, a TCEQ Class D Water License and a Work Zone Traffic Control certification within one year of hire.

Pay: $33,589.00 - $47,838.00 per year
