Join the City of Boise Parks and Recreation Aquatics team as a Swim Meet Supervisor!
Promotes good sportsmanship and maintains a safe environment for recreational swim league meets. Supervises swim meet timekeepers. Coordinates with officials to ensure meets begin on time. Assists in organizing and teaching a pre-season stroke and turn clinic for volunteers. (40%)
Ensures the safety and well-being of all participants and spectators including checking with pool managers on duty and relaying any safety issues/concerns. Inspects and inventories equipment and supplies to ensure they are in good working order and notifies supervisor when items need repair or replacement. (40%)
Arrives 30-45 minutes prior to meet start time and makes sure facility is ready. Prepares materials such as timing clipboards, ribbons, and scorer's table. Acts as a mediator to settle disputes between teams and interprets rules, and acts as a liaison between the teams in the league. (20%)

Three years' experience participating in or coaching swimming.

Preferred Knowledge, Experience, And Training
Two years of experience coaching a swim team.

Position requires hand/finger dexterity.

The work environment will include outdoor weather conditions, extreme temperatures, in wet and humid conditions, areas of dust, odors, mist and gases or other airborne matter. Work includes protected exposure to infectious bacteria, bodily fluids and chemicals.

- Performs pre-meet duties to ensure facilities are ready and positions are covered before each swim meet
- This position is temporary work during the summer season only (mid-June through July) located at one of Boise Parks and Recreation's outdoor facilities
