Position Details
The work of Public Works department staff touches the lives of residents and visitors daily by providing for the operations and maintenance of City streets, water and storm drains, and City municipal facilities.
This role is non-exempt (hourly) and has a starting salary of $16.42hr. Hours are Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. or Monday – Thursday 6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (part-time hours are also available). Learn more about the Seasonal Maintenance II Utilities position here.
How you'll use your strengths every day
The Seasonal Maintenance Utilities worker values people and perspectives by:
- Performing basic water and sewer maintenance of the City’s infrastructure.
- Assisting with sewer cleaning, hydrant flushing, hydrant repair and lubing, and building maintenance.
- Operate high capacity rotary mowers, 4WD tractors and carts, pickup trucks and specialty equipment.
- Assist with Gopher State One Call utility locating.
- Safely operate city vehicles and equipment like mowers, pickup trucks, and small hand and power tools.
- Assist with mowing, turf maintenance, and weed trimming.
What you'll bring to help you be successful
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- A valid Class D Driver’s License and eligibility to obtain.
- A background or interest in local government work serving the community.
- An interest in developing what you do best and a commitment to valuing each colleague for their unique perspectives.
