Under the direction of the Library Creative Events Coordinator, the purpose of the Event Attendant position is to assist with all rentals and reservation contracts in the Library, including event setups, breakdowns and working most weekend rentals. This position will assist with the coordination of all aspects of marketing to promote and increase rental usage at the Library. This position does not provide direction to other employees.
This is a part time position, working approximately 20 hours per week. The schedule will vary, based on event needs and will include evenings and weekends.
- Provides premier customer service to internal and external customers by responding to requests in a timely and professional manner. Provides tours of the Library event space.
- Prepares reservation contracts, takes payments for reservations, setup and break down of rooms. Ensures and maintains accuracy on contracts, payments, and reports.
- Assists the coordination of internal and external schedule of events, as well as special events, as needed. Frequently checks weekly rental schedule.
- Provides information to the public about Library facilities; specifically focusing on the facility rentals.
- Reports needed repairs and cleanliness of the Library event space to supervisor and/or custodial staff.
- Assist with Library essential functions, as assigned.
- Regular attendance required. Includes flexible availability: Opening, closing, weekends, rotating shifts, special events, and holidays if needed.
- Work requires knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes. Level of knowledge equivalent to four years of high school or equivalency required.
- No experience required, however at least six months of experience in a reservation/rental/special event position, or closely related field is preferred.
- Ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire: Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License, CPR, First Aid, AED.
