Position Title: Urban Forestry Seasonal Summer Worker
Description:
This position provides a unique and diverse learning experience for a person interested in Urban Forestry. Job duties include street tree maintenance, plant health care and tree removal. Under supervision of the City Forester and/or City Arborist, works with aerial bucket trucks, brush chipper, stump grinder, chainsaws, hand tools and other mechanical and safety equipment.
Period of Employment:
-14 weeks, dependent on student's school schedule.
-Monday– Friday, 40 hours per week, from mid-May until the end of August
Salary: $15.00/hr.
Minimum Qualifications:
-Must be seventeen (17) years of age on or before June 16th, 2023.
-Valid driver's license with good driving record.
-Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
-Ability and willingness to perform labor intensive activities and able to lift 50 lbs.
-A high degree of self-motivation, a strong work ethic, good organizational skills, and the ability to work safely and effectively alone or as part of a crew.
-Be willing to work outdoors all day under varying weather conditions.
