Starting Salary: $47,480
After completion of the Police Academy salary will be: $49,855

TYPICAL CLASS ESSENTIAL DUTIES: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)
- Attends the police academy, which includes completing required training and academy courses, receiving peace officer certification, and performing related duties.
- May assist police officers with daily assignments, which could include ride-alongs, transmitting radio messages, retrieving and filing information, assisting with fingerprinting, and performing related duties.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE (positions in this class typically require):
High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.); or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

- Must reside within a 60-minute drive time (obeying all traffic laws) to Police Headquarters at 135 Commerce Street upon completion of the Field Training Program.
