What are the responsibilities and job description for the Waterfront Director position at City of Danbury?
The City of Danbury is now hiring a Waterfront Director for the Summer 2024 season.
The Waterfront Director works under the direction of the Recreation Director, to ensure the general safety of guests and staff at the Candlewood Lake Park. The Waterfront Director is responsible for supervising all waterfront staff, including lifeguards, gate attendants, and groundskeeper. This director is also responsible for teaching and monitoring the proper use of equipment. Safety must be the Waterfront Director’s number one priority. The Director is responsible for creating weekly schedules and life guard training drills. The position is seasonal and up to 40 hours per week. Must have Waterfront experience. This position operates Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day Weekend.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee the Waterfront Staff
- Create schedules and and re[orts weekly hours to the Recreation Director for payroll processing
- Plan and provide orientation for staff and conduct trainings as necessary
- Maintain all training records
- Implements procedures to maintain the safety of lake patrons and staff.
- Inspect waterfront facilities daily; report any defects to Recreation Directo
Requirements:
- Mute be Red Cross Lifeguard certified
