Youth Art Instructor Pay: $20.85 per hour Part-Time Recurring (Year-Round), Up to 25 hours per week Non-Exempt, Not Benefit EligibleJoin Team Eagan!The Eagan Art House is seeking a creative and highly collaborative individual for our open Youth Art Instructor position. This position teaches visual art for the Eagan Art House youth programs, after school programs, camps, field trips, and community outreach. Students are primarily ages 5 to 12. This position will implement curriculum in a variety of mediums including painting, drawing, and multi-media.Hours vary and may include daytime, evening, and weekend hours up to 25 hours per week. Typical weeks are about 5-10 hours, and up to 25 hours during the busy summer season.

In this position you will: Enthusiastically engage students in the process of art creationImplement visual art curriculum for youth ages 5 – 12Demonstrate knowledge of painting, drawing and multi-media mediumsDemonstrate knowledge of a variety of artists, artwork styles and art historyPromote inclusivity and diversity in a community settingSet up and clean up activity spacesPlan and request supplies and support materials as neededKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to be flexible in a variety of settingsAbility to adapt curriculum to student’s needs and skill levelAbility to effectively communicate with children and adultsAbility to work independently and with a teamUnderstand the role of the arts in Community building

Nice to Haves: Degree or coursework leading to a degree in art or art education -OR- equivalent experience in art or art educationExperience developing lesson plans independentlyExperience creating art in one or more mediumsFluency in a non-English languagePhysical Requirements: Sit, stand, talk, write, hear. Occasionally required to lift/move up to 50 pounds. Occasionally must climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, run, walk.
