What are the responsibilities and job description for the Jail Service Officer - Part Time position at City of East Lansing?
Responsible for the processing, safety, and security of persons who have been detained in the East Lansing jail since they have been arrested; are awaiting trial; or who have been tried and convicted of a crime and are awaiting transport to a correctional facility. Must be able to maintain effective, courteous, and professional working relationships; respond to emergencies in the jail; and operate a variety of computer programs and equipment including the LEIN terminal.

Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent is required; specialized training/experience in the field of corrections and/or law enforcement is highly desirable.
Must respect the confidential nature of the job and deal effectively and objectively with others.
Must pass a thorough police background investigation. Position is contingent upon passing a physical including a drug screen.
