Position Title: Distribution System Operator Recruit

Annual Salary: $36,712.00
General Summary: Under general supervision, performs various duties required in the installation, repairing and maintenance of water, wastewater, and reclaimed water lines and appurtenances within the department. Reports to the Field Operations
Superintendent
Description: Performs repairs and maintenance to water, sewer and reclaimed water lines, manholes, valves, hydrants, meters and other utility appurtenances
Installs water, sewer and reclaimed water lines, force mains, hydrants, meters and other utility appurtenances as required
Reads meters and performs turn-on and turn-offs as directed
Assists backhoe operator in excavation to ensure any utility conflicts are located
Responds to customer complaints and billing inquiries using computerized service call methods. Provides general information and assistance as requested including checking for leaks and answering customer questions
May participate in on-call rotation
May be required to return to work to assist with emergency management preparation, response and/or recovery activities
Assists in flagging activities in construction zones
Performs general housekeeping, grounds keeping and yard maintenance of Field Operations and Administration facilities
Maintains assigned vehicle and equipment to ensure safe and proper working conditions
Maintains assigned vehicle in a clean and neat manner that is professional to the public
Assists other employees in emergencies
Minimum 6-11 months of experience in related field required
Qualifications:
General Computer Skills
Valid Florida driver’s license required
High school diploma required
Must acquire Distribution System Operator Licensure “3” within 18 months.
Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
