Job Summary
Performs comprehensive building maintenance, custodial services, groundskeeping, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and light construction work for Police Department facilities and City owned properties. Ensures facilities are safe, operational, sanitary, and secure.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities
Work outside year-round. Temperature extremes are: summer 95 degrees and winter -10 degrees. There is exposure to dirt, dust, snow, rain, and noise, equipment movement and vibrations, hazardous chemicals and electrical shock.

Job Summary
Performs comprehensive building maintenance, custodial services, groundskeeping, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and light construction work for Police Department facilities and City owned properties. Ensures facilities are safe, operational, sanitary, and secure.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform all types of building repair and maintenance tasks.
- Request needed inventory and purchase tools, parts, materials, and supplies.
- Perform other maintenance duties as may be assigned.
- Perform general cleaning and lawn care and snow removal
- Perform basic groundskeeping tasks to support the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of City facilities and properties.
- Maintain assigned tools and equipment in safe, operable condition.
- Perform light maintenance work, including repairs to lighting, doors, locks, and fixtures.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for building and equipment repairs as directed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Services Captain.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Preferred three (3) years of building maintenance, construction, custodial, or facilities experience.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Knowledge and skills in using materials, tools, and equipment required in construction and building repairs.
- Ability to prepare and maintain a variety of records and reports.
- Knowledge of personal computers.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read, understands, and follow blue prints or manuals.
- Ability to lift 100 pounds and maneuver 200 pounds on a regular basis.
- Work out of doors year-round.
- Work with potentially hazardous equipment and tools.
- Work in confined spaces and up to 40 feet above ground.
