Water Treatment Plant Foreman

Job Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Wastewater Treatment Plant Manager, this position is responsible for skilled work in the operation of a regulated facility that has a direct effect on the health and well-being of the public. Shift and weekend work will be required. Will be subject to emergency callouts as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• General knowledge of electricity, pumps, motors, basic mechanics, and a basic understanding of mathematics and mathematical formulas.
• Must obtain a Class D Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator certification within 6 months of employment.
• Must obtain a Class C Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator certification within 18 months.
• Must Obtain a Class B certification within 60 months.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Texas Class C Driver’s License.

Essential Job Functions and Duties:

• Work independently within established requirements.
• Follow oral and written instructions.
• Prepare clear and concise daily reports on plant operations.
• Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
• Assist the Coordinator with the pretreatment program.
• Possible contact with untreated wastewater.
• Collect samples and run process control tests to determine proper control and compliance with rules and regulations.
• Monitor biomass, and influent make-up.
• Keep buildings, work areas, and grounds clean.
• Assist in the maintenance of machinery and equipment.
• Ability to assist in moving 100 pounds of various chemicals.
• Monitor and interpret Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) information and other process-related gauges, meters, and scales.
• Operation of power and hand tools.
• Basic computer skills.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and team members.
• Attend various technical training schools and seminars with the intention of receiving required certifications.
• Perform all duties in a safe and effective manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $52,599.00 - $73,644.00 per year
