What are the responsibilities and job description for the Water Treatment Plant Foreman position at City of Ennis?
Job Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Wastewater Treatment Plant Manager, this position is responsible for skilled work in the operation of a regulated facility that has a direct effect on the health and well-being of the public. Shift and weekend work will be required. Will be subject to emergency callouts as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- General knowledge of electricity, pumps, motors, basic mechanics, and a basic understanding of mathematics and mathematical formulas.
- Must obtain a Class D Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator certification within 6 months of employment.
- Must obtain a Class C Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator certification within 18 months.
- Must Obtain a Class B certification within 60 months.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Texas Class C Driver’s License.
Essential Job Functions and Duties:
- Work independently within established requirements.
- Follow oral and written instructions.
- Prepare clear and concise daily reports on plant operations.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Assist the Coordinator with the pretreatment program.
- Possible contact with untreated wastewater.
- Collect samples and run process control tests to determine proper control and compliance with rules and regulations.
- Monitor biomass, and influent make-up.
- Keep buildings, work areas, and grounds clean.
- Assist in the maintenance of machinery and equipment.
- Ability to assist in moving 100 pounds of various chemicals.
- Monitor and interpret Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) information and other process-related gauges, meters, and scales.
- Operation of power and hand tools.
- Basic computer skills.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and team members.
- Attend various technical training schools and seminars with the intention of receiving required certifications.
- Perform all duties in a safe and effective manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $52,599.00 - $73,644.00 per year
