What are the responsibilities and job description for the MS4 Regulatory Compliance Officer position at City of Evansville?
DUTIES
Reviews Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) submitted to the Engineering Offices. Field inspects construction of new storm water assets associated with new restaurants, convenience stores, and automotive service centers. Annually inspects restaurants, convenience stores, and automotive service centers for compliance with storm water ordinance and the municipal storm water permit. Reports completed inspections to the MS4 Director. Reports inspection violations to the MS4 Compliance Coordinator. Assists in public education outreach. Measures and evaluates pollutant loadings and mass concentrations, if applicable. Recommends SWPPP fines as prescribed by ordinance based on field inspections. Assist in in-stream sampling. Assist in SWPPP erosion control site inspections. Perform other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Incumbent must possess a thorough knowledge of storm water regulations, erosion control, and inspection procedures for water quality testing. Incumbent must possess an Associates’ degree in Environmental Engineering or related field, and have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in municipal or government organization. In lieu of a degree, incumbent may have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in storm water quality inspection, sampling, or monitoring, or related experiences. Incumbent must possess personal skills in order to effectively communicate with business owners during the inspection process and the communication skills to convey water quality issues to both the permitee and municipal managers. Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
