What are the responsibilities and job description for the Court Clerk position at City of Farmers Branch?
Provides quality customer service by greeting internal and external customers, answering phones, responding to inquiries, and providing general information. Responsible for communicating accurate and timely information regarding court procedures, case records, dispositions, fines and costs in accordance with both state and local laws and within the guidelines and polices of the Municipal Court and City. Explains options available to defendants in reference to a citation.
Responsible for Case Records Management. Completes accurate data entry and posting of receipts, payments and bonds. Completes end-of-day edit of cash drawer and deposits. Properly reviews and prepares warrants and sends notifications to defendants and attorneys. Completes electronic citation imports, insurance verifications and other review processes related to court case monitoring. Assists with mail, faxes and internet payments.
High School Diploma or equivalent. One year of related or relevant experience required.Municipal Court Clerk Level I Certification to be obtained within twelve months of employment and maintained while employed.
Employment is conditional upon successful completion of a criminal background check.This position normally performs the duty assignment after receiving detailed instructions as to methods, procedures, and desired end results with little room for deviation. The immediate supervisor may, at times, provide close and constant review.
