The Part-Time Maker Playground Staff position is responsible for onsite supervision, training coordination, membership services and execution of specific projects and programs in Maker Playground, which is managed by the Parks and Recreation Department for the City of Fishers. Maker Playground operates as a public facility, inviting designers, entrepreneurs, fabricators, creatives, artists, teachers, and those new to “making” to engage in collaboration, mentorship, events, programs, training and more. Maker Playground Staff work closely with the Makerspace Manager, members, educators, and program leaders. The ideal applicant is self-motivated and feels comfortable overseeing members while managing a project from initial concept to completion.This position is a year-round part-time position with an average of 20-29 hours a week, requiring evening and weekend availability.

Oversee use of tools and equipmentAssist members and contractors with proper use of tools and equipmentConduct safety trainings for new membersProvide tours of MakerspaceAdministrative duties related to membership and trainingPerform basic maintenance on tools and equipmentBalance completion of assigned projects with general shop supervision and administrative dutiesCreate internal projects utilizing woodworking, laser cutting, 3D printing, and CNC routingGenerate activity and project ideasCreate and lead classes for members and communityVarious other operational duties as needed within the Makerspace
