Pay Range: $17.11/hr. - $21.31/hr.

Workdays & Hours: This position requires working weekends and holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas and may require rotating shift assignments to include Sunday – Saturday 6AM – 9:30 PM.

A Parking Meter Technician I at job is available with the City of Fort Worth Transportation and Public Works Department within its Parking Services Division The select candidate will have the ability to provide maintenance duties in support of the activities and services of the Parking Enterprise operations and services. Candidates will be tested on Excel, reading maps, comprehension skills and various math skills.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED and no experience required
  • Valid Texas driver’s license
  • Must pass Drug Screen and Physical

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Word, Excel, Access skills
  • Customer Service and cash handling experience
  • Record keeping such as maintaining daily cash reports, work orders and other miscellaneous reports.

The Job Responsibilities Include

  • Install and maintain parking related control devices and markings
  • Provide device and sign installation and field maintenance services
  • Provide assistance to assigned supervisory personnel
  • Act as positive ambassador for the City of Fort Worth
  • Ability to trouble shoot, work with hand tools & power tools
  • Working knowledge in electronics
  • Working knowledge of GIS

Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling and lifting; depending on assignment. Incumbents may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, odors, dusts, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, intense noises, gases, vibrations, chemicals, oils and workspace restrictions.

Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 80 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.

Physical Demand
