Position: Custodian I
Division: Public Works
Reports To: Superintendent of Buildings & Grounds
Brief Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
This is repetitive manual work requiring efficient performance of simple building cleaning and grounds maintenance duties:
Scrubs, mops, waxes and polish floors, dust and polishes furniture, washes windows, wood work, toilets, washrooms and fixtures.
Vacuum and maintains all floors of all City buildings
Sweeps sidewalks, shovels snow from walks, and maintains grounds which may include lawn maintenance
Maintains, replenishes and issues cleaning and related supplies and equipment
Works under general supervision on routines recurring assignment. The work is occasionally reviewed via supervisor
Supervision Received:
Works under the direction of the Buildings Superintendent and the Director of Public Works.
Qualifications:
Education equivalent to that of a High School Diploma, including training and at least two years of related experience.
Salary: $14.42 Per Hour/ Yearly $30,000
