What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Laborer (Public Works) position at City of Geneva?
The City of Geneva Public Works Department is accepting applications for seasonal laborers to join our team over the summer months. Summer laborers work alongside crew members and assist with the maintenance and upkeep of the City's streets, signs, trees, parkways, and water systems. Assignments are primarily based in the Water and Street Division.

Some of the work you'll do...
- Assist Street and Water Division crews with special projects involving roadways, parkways and water distribution systems.
- Use power tools and equipment to perform maintenance to City infrastructure.
- Drive City vehicles and equipment to and from job sites
- Set up and take down special events
- Work outdoors and stay busy by keeping our community looking its best!
The standard hours for this position are 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.
This position runs from May to August, with the actual start and end dates flexible to candidates' schedules.
Qualifications
Candidates must be 18 years of age or older and have a valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
Special Requirements
The position requires the ability to frequently lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds as necessary. Work is performed outdoors and in various weather conditions. Seasonal laborers must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
