An incumbent in this position is responsible for supervision and control of the theatre space, as well as for safe operation of all equipment used in theatre production and for scheduled events.
Distinguishing Features of the Class
An employee in this position provides paraprofessional duties assisting theatre staff, artists, and producers with live events. Work schedule will be primarily evening and weekend hours, Monday through Sunday, with occasional daytime event requests. Scheduling will remain flexible as much as possible, with responsibilities shared among the entire part-time technical staff.
Performs related duties as required with emphasis on public safety and long-term preservation of Paramount equipment.
This is both medium and sedentary work requiring the exertion of up to 25 pounds of force regularly, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects; work requires climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, fingering, grasping, and repetitive motions.
Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly, or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken levels, and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound.
Visual acuity is required for visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts in the general surroundings, operation of cleaning equipment, changing signs, and observing surroundings and activities; the worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, and noise.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent and basic knowledge of modern stage sound/lighting systems. Experience in theatrical stage productions is preferred.

- Responsible for safe operation of one or more of Paramount Theatre's Sound, Lighting, and rigging systems during live public and private events (including rehearsals, performances, film showings, etc.)
- Responsible for set-up of sound and/or lighting system components prior to each event,
- Properly securing the components after the conclusion of each event.
- Work with artists and producers prior to, during and after live events.
- Work with theatre staff to facilitate and accomplish needs of theatre productions and day-to-day activities of Paramount Theatre.
- Apply/implement pertinent federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary : $12 - $17
