Under general direction, the Assistant CIO is responsible with performing complex technical work and assisting in the planning, organizing, implementing, administering and directing of the Information Technology department; prepares strategic multi-year plans; organizes personnel assignments; coordinates and manages IT Technology projects, and oversees Cyber Security for the organization. As the Assistant CIO, the incumbent is responsible with managing and overseeing the integration of major departmental functions, including but not limited to customer support, support of major platforms and vendor management. Generates complex reports and makes recommendations; acts as department head in the absence of the CIO; supervises and coordinates activities of Information Technology staff; prepares and monitors budgets; directs and conducts special research projects and performs complex analysis.

- Minimum of 3 years’ increasingly responsible supervisory and managerial experience in information technology with at least 1 years in an official IT management position.
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration or closely related field. Master’s degree highly desirable.
- Cybersecurity experience is highly recommended.
- Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements) or obtain within one year of employment.
- CPTM, ITIL, CISSP or other technical IT Industry certifications highly desired.
- Must have a valid Florida driver’s license with satisfactory driving record throughout employment.
