Job Purpose
The position, under general direction, supervises, plans, coordinates and develops the activities and operations of Capital Transit within the Transportation Systems Department. The position works with outside agencies and the public to coordinate service activities and identifies and develops improvements to the Helena transit system.
The position provides highly responsible and complex administrative support of the Capital Transit Division within the Transportation Systems Department which is responsible for the public transportation system operated by the City of Helena.
The position plans, and performs a variety of financial, accounting, and highly responsible, confidential, and complex administrative duties and program and project support for the Division. The position plans, organizes, and conducts the operations and functions of the office.
The incumbent provides ongoing program and project support to the Division and Transportation Systems Department as needed, in support of supervisors, staff, other departments, outside agencies, various contractors and the public. Minimum Qualifications
This position prefers an associate degree in office/ business management or public administration related degree with course work in public transportation, accounting, or related areas. The position requires a minimum of four years of responsible program management that could include transit operations, private business, government administration experience, office management, accounting, or grant coordination/administration. The position prefers three years of administrative and supervisory responsibility. Other relevant combinations of education and work experience may be evaluated on an individual basis.
