DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Oversees and coordinates personnel and customers in evaluating, planning and administrating various Water and Wastewater Capacity project pertaining to Wastewater Capacity Reservation letters within time constraints.
Directs and coordinates all revisions to Water and Wastewater projects specifically pertaining to the Wastewater Capacity Reservation Letter for Utility Analysis ensuring proper points of connection and resolving any problems.
Conducts review of all shopping center applications, site to site Wastewater Capacity transfers, and name transfers of Wastewater Capacity.
Consults with technical professionals and customers to ensure a timely customer response on all projects.
Issues completed Wastewater Capacity Reservation letters pertaining to revisions, shopping center applications, site to site Wastewater Capacity transfers, and name transfers of Wastewater Capacity while maintaining the service level agreements.
Develop and implement an electronic process for revisions, shopping center applications, site to site Wastewater Capacity transfers and name transfers of Wastewater Capacity.
Prepares and maintains various reports and records. Prepares and evaluates policies and procedures, ensuring all Standard Operating procedures are developed and followed by the Utility Analysis team.
Communicates electronically with customers and TXDot agencies on all TXDot permit requests submitted by the Utility Analysis section.
Performs other duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The position is physically comfortable; the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc. There are no major sources of discomfort, i.e., essentially normal office environment with acceptable lighting, temperature and air conditions.
This is a Houston Public Works Emergency Management position at the Tier III level. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Landscape Architecture, Project Management or a closely related field based on the responsibilities of the position. Considerable knowledge of design or construction is required.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
No experience is required.
Directly related professional architectural, construction or landscape design experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
NonePreference may be given to applicants who have experience designing or reviewing plans for utility systems and/or proficiency using GIS; and who possess excellent technical writing skills, communication skills and the ability to interpret and explain City procedures.
**Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6.**SELECTION/SKILLS TESTS REQUIRED: None
