The City of Irvine seeks an experienced, professional and motivated individual to oversee daily operations, rides, rentals, manage part-time staff and volunteers, and provide outstanding customer service at Great Park Visitors Center. This vacancy is Extended Part-time, 30-32 hours a week, Thursday through Sunday availability required. Future vacancies at this and lower level classifications may be filled through this recruitment.

The ideal candidate will possess two years of college or university level work in Recreation, Facility Management, or related field and two years of related customer service or ride operation experience.

Interview: After a thorough review of applications, those candidates deemed most qualified as reflected in their application will be invited to an interview.

 

Background Check: A thorough background investigation will be conducted prior to appointment.

 

Medical Examination: A medical examination will be conducted, including a drug/alcohol screening and proof of a negative TB test to ensure the ability to perform assigned duties. Please note: Although Proposition 64 legalized the personal use of marijuana in California, marijuana is a prohibited substance in the workplace. Marijuana detected in pre-employment drug screening may result in disqualification from employment based on applicable laws. 


Future Vacancies: This recruitment may be used to fill future positions in similar and/or lower classifications within the organization.

Part-time employees are employed "at will" and their services can be discontinued without cause.

Certain City budgets may not include funding for mandated CalPERS employer contributions. A qualified candidate who is a current member of CalPERS may be restricted from temporary/part-time employment.
