We are looking to fill the role of City Engineer (Director Level Position) to our team!
JOB SUMMARY: The City Engineer will plan, design, and manage construction and rehabilitation of public infrastructure. The position is responsible for overseeing the design of public improvements of city streets, water and wastewater system improvements and new installations, stormwater system, parks, facilities, and subdivision design review and provides the final authority for infrastructure inspections.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Preparation and oversight of all public bidding processes for infrstructure contracts
- Updates of the City Standard Specification and Construction Standard Drawings
- Interfacing with county, state and federal agencies for projects within the city
- Performs and coordinates professional office and field civil engineering work
- Manages work groups and/orservice areas of the Engineering Department
- Coordinates assigend activites with other departments, outside agencies, and the general public
- Provides highly repsonsible and complex staff assistance
This position works independently of close supervision, but it is reviewd and directed by the Assistant City Manager.
MINIMUM AND PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Training: A Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or closely related field.
Desired Experience: Three to five years or more of responsible municipal civile engineering experience. Experience to invlude project management, administrative, and/or supervisory responsibility.
License or Certificate: Professional engineer licensure in the State of Oklahoma or the ability to obtain within six months of employment.
Possession of an appropriate, valid State of Oklahoma Drivers License.
Excellent writing and organizational skills. Qualified applicants will be asked to provide writing samples that demonstrate such skills.
Some private sector experience will be considered a plus.
Must pass background check.
Salary : $80,290 - $131,772
