Must demonstrate effective communications skills and utilize judgement with confidential information. The ability to pass a criminal background check is required. Prepares reports such as uniform crime, officer injury, sexual assault, arson and a variety of other reports from compiled department records and forms. Prepares graphs. Types a variety of materials including reports and correspondence from written and oral instructions. May compose routine correspondence. May perform department payroll related tasks. Sorts and files forms, reports and other documents. Completes on-line validations for NCIC on stolen property and missing persons Prints criminal histories and other materials from computer records. Contact various license applicants and the public to gather information for license approval process, and to obtain information regarding lost/stolen property, missing individuals and other police records matters. Take photos and prepare identification cards for city employees, cab drivers, solicitors and others. Compiles monthly and quarterly billing, as well as account information for parking utilities. Coordinates with outside businesses to complete monthly permit updates. Prepares and processes delinquent notices and suspends and releases suspended permits. Takes customer payments in person and by mail for parking citations, parking permits, record requests, and fingerprint charges and closes out financial batch each day. Monitors accounts receivable and accounts payable activity. Responds to telephone and in-person customer inquiries/complaints regarding citations and permits. Provides information to the public related to parking policies, procedures, and ordinances. Researches billing questions and provides information or refers inquiry/complaint to appropriate person. Adjusts billing invoices when supported by research. Prepares, audits, and maintains information for ramp permits. Receives information from the supervisor and CSEs on vehicles that are delinquent with citations that are boot eligible and located. Annotates time and dates for boots and tow, and makes contact with registered owners. Facilitates payment and pick up arrangements as needed for boot and impound release. Contacts lien holders for non-compliant vehicle owners to arrange payment and pick up of vehicle. Works with the public on setting up a payment plan agreement, down payment, installment amounts and dates. Follows up monthly to ensure payments are being received. Revokes the payment plan after frequently delinquent activity. Sends notices to parking citation holders of unpaid citations. Sends notices of delinquent payment arrangements, annual residential parking reminders, and other miscellaneous letters as needed. Attends monthly parking meetings as well as other miscellaneous meetings for programs that the parking utility uses. Works with the legal department in verifying collection information and fund retrieval on citations that have gone to collections status. Perform copying/duplicating media from evidence. Create retired carry identification cards for retired officers. Utilize the Open Records systems and assist customers in using it. Utilize the Body worn camera database; create redacted videos/photos for customers, assist the customer with viewing on a work computer if needed.
