Knowledge of street, utility, and drainage operations is requisite.
• Knowledge of major types of construction, materials and methods is required.
• Thorough knowledge of municipal codes and ordinances.
• Thorough knowledge of functional, as well as legal ramifications of land use and development control ordinances, and state and local laws is requisite.
• Advanced reading, math and writing skills are required.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications and blueprints, and compare them with construction in process.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Manages two subordinate supervisors who supervise employees in the Stormwater, Streets, Water/Wastewater, and Meter Reading. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Public Administration, or similar field plus ten (10) years of increasingly responsible experience in public works maintenance, construction and repair activities, including five (5) years of supervisory experience is required.Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license with a good driving record. Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Texas; or if currently licensed in another state, the ability to obtain a Texas P.E. license in the State of Texas within 6 months.Salary : $119,613 - $134,047
