Assist and supervise Facilities Technician I personnel, oversee contracted services, manage custodial services inventory management, execute facility rental reservations and assume responsibility for the department. This is a safety-sensitive and/or DOT position. Therefore, participation in random drug testing at the city will be mandatory.

- Assist and supervise Facilities Tech 1 personnel, contracted custodial services, and other departments as needed in all city facilities for custodial duties and room setup replenishment (beverages)
- Evaluate personnel performance by assigning, monitoring, and ensuring task completion
- Assist in recruitment, selection, supervision, training, appraisal, counseling, and termination of department personnel
- Contribute to planning, organizing, and implementing department goals, policies, and procedures. Provide leadership in developing short and long-term plans, aiding in data collection for studies, reports, and recommendations. Coordinate department activities with other departments as necessary
- Prepare weekly schedules to ensure meetings and rentals have sufficient coverage
- Prepare and submit a variety of records and reports as needed
- Conduct weekly meetings and routine facility inspections
- Respond to inquiries, complaints, or requests pertaining to custodial services
- Supervise the inventory of custodial supplies, make purchases as needed, and manage inventory controls
- Assign and coordinate facility rental reservations for the Civic Center, Recreation Center, and any other rental facility as assigned. Process all rental contracts, take payments, and create schedule packages for key staff members
- Assist completing Tyler P-card reconciliation
- Assist with preparation and monitoring of the department budget
- Schedule meetings and maintain calendars
- Greet and assist visitors; handles telephone calls, emails and inquiries.
- All other duties as assigned
Must be able to provide services for the benefit of the general public during emergency situations that threaten the safety of League City’s citizens, and that, City employees must be able to work immediately before, during, or immediately after an emergency.
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Five years custodial experience, including two years of personnel management experience
- Two years of related work experience in administrative support
- Must be able to pass a DPS fingerprint background check
Required Licenses or Certifications
- Valid driver's license
Knowledge of:
- Preventative maintenance, evaluation, and execution custodial tasks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Microsoft Outlook
- Familiar with general office practices and departmental policies
- Recordkeeping, retention policies and practices
- Office procedures, methods and computer equipment
Skill in:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Interpersonal skills necessary to develop and maintain effective and appropriate working relationships
- Performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature
- Scheduling meetings, prioritizing and coordinating schedules, and collaboration with other key staff on a broad range of tasks
- Using standard office equipment, computers, and applicable departmental software
