What are the responsibilities and job description for the Diesel Technician position at City of Lincoln/Lancaster County?
Hours: Full time
Winter Hours (November to April): Monday - Friday; 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Summer Hours (April to November): Monday- Thursday; 6:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Hours may be adjusted based on weather and/or emergency conditions (weekends and holidays included).
This is skilled mechanical work in the repair and maintenance of diversified medium and heavy equipment. Desired: Automotive Service Excellence (A.S.E.) certification.

Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent plus 2 years of experience in medium and heavy construction equipment maintenance and repair; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
Necessary Special Requirements: Possession of a valid driver's license when operating a vehicle is necessary for the satisfactory performance of assigned duties.
Employees must possess and maintain a valid Nebraska Commercial Driver's License CDL) and any applicable endorsements with 60 days of hire.
Possession of certification in Motor Vehicle Refrigerant Servicing as specified in EPA Section 609 guidelines or the ability to obtain certification within 6 months of appointment.
