What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parks & Rec - Level 2 position at City of Livonia?
This job level contains the following positions: Kid Quarters Attendant, Marketing Assistant, Park Attendant, and Special Events Leader. Please see the Illustrative Examples of Work section below for more information.
Kid Quarters Attendant – Interacts with children 12 and under by playing games, crafts, reading, etc. while parent(s) is/are in the facility. Must obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 30 days of employment.
Marketing Assistant – Performs tasks relative to the department's marketing plan and strategies. Creativity and basic skills are required. Must be at least 18 years old.
Park Attendant – At assigned parks, cleans park and assists park users, during spring and summer. Must be at least 18 years old. Must obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 30 days of employment.
Special Events Leader – Works with the Supervisor in planning programs, activities, and special events; supervises staff and participants.
- Be at least 16 years old (or as specified); and
- Be able to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays; and
- Have the ability to lift a minimum of 35 pounds; and
- Have the ability to demonstrate techniques and skills associated with the position.

- Assure safety of participants
- Work effectively with the public and department personnel
- Perform other related duties, as assigned
NOTE: Advancement to step 1.5 will happen at six months of employment. Advancement to the next step will be considered after one year of employment, if a minimum of 125 hours have been worked and a satisfactory employee evaluation has been obtained.
