Under policy direction of the City Council, plans, organizes, directs, manages and evaluates the administrative activities and operations of the City of Lodi; Serves as the chief executive officer of the City ensuring that public services are delivered in an efficient, effective, and fiscally responsible manner; Provides advice, assistance, and guidance to the City Council; Provides overall leadership and direction to the entire City government; and, fosters cooperative working relationships with the City’s Executive team, department directors and staff, City commission/committee members, community groups, business organizations and inter-governmental agencies.
This single position class is appointed and serves at the pleasure of the City Council. The City Manager is accountable for implementing policy decisions made by the City Council and ensuring progress on the City Council Strategic Vision through facilitating the development, implementation, and evaluation of City goals and objectives.
