The Position
The City of Maple Grove is seeking temporary election assistants to assist with the 2024 elections. In this role, you will assist and provide support to the city clerk during the election process. Additionally, you will assist in the planning, administration, and execution of various duties and assist voters in obtaining an absentee ballot by entering data in the Statewide Voter Registration System (SVRS) system. You may also be tasked with election equipment testing to ensure the accuracy of equipment. Come and be a part of our growing community!This is a variable-hour intermittent temporary position with no benefits, which begins approximately July 8, 2024 through August 13, 2024 and again September 23, 2024 through November 5, 2024, with most hours scheduled between July 22 – August 13 for the primary election and October 2 – November 5 for the general election. The hours will fluctuate between 10 and 40 hours/week as needed between 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. This position may require evening work on Election Day and may require work on the Saturday before the primary election from 10 am - 3 pm. and the two Saturdays and the Sunday before the general election from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

- Assists the city clerk in the planning, administration, and execution of various duties in connection with the 2024 elections.
- Assists voters in obtaining an absentee ballot by entering and/or proofing voter's data in the voter registration system (SVRS).
- Attends election training as required to help in the administration of election services for the city.
- Assists with election equipment testing to ensure the accuracy of the equipment.
- Other general clerical duties include data entry, copying, scanning, filing, and assembling documents.
Need to have:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Eligible to vote in elections.
Nice to have:
- Previous experience with elections and the Statewide Voter Registration System (SVRS) absentee ballot module.
- Service as an election judge preferred.
