Salary: $18.90/hr. minimum - $23.16/hr. midpoint (Depending on qualifications)
Responsible for assisting with the administration of all benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, long-term disability, and 457 (B) Plan, Critical Care, Accident Insurance and ADD insurance. SUPERVISION
General supervision is provided by the Director of Human Resources. 1. All behaviors comply with the Code of Conduct & Rules of Behavior outlined in chapter 8 of the General Government Policies and Procedures Manual.
2. Answer, research, and respond to employee questions regarding all City provided benefits.
3. Stay abreast of current trends and legislation that may affect employee benefit plans.
4. Assists with new-hire orientations.
5. Assists with the open enrollment process. Coordinate open enrollment periods for all insurance plans. Be available to assist representatives.
6. Prepare and modify a variety of information with insurance carriers; process life insurance claims; keep eligibility status updated.
7. Contact and administrator for the City’s tobacco cessation program. Responsible for informing eligible employees who want to participate in the tobacco cessation program of the requirements and maintaining databases of their progress as well as reimbursements issued.
8. Contact and administrator for the City’s preventive benefit requirement. Responsible for informing employees of the requirement and maintain preventive benefit database for all City employees.
9. Coordinate, plan, and serve as the point of contact for City/Department related events in the Benefits Division, i.e., Annual Health Fair, Retirement Seminar, Open Enrollment meetings.
10. Performs quality checks of benefits-related data.
11. Provide information to various individuals regarding the City’s policies, procedures, and benefits.
12. Maintain a variety of electronic files and electronic filing systems to include employee, retiree, and terminated personnel filing system.
13. Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
14. Prepare materials and correspondence for distribution within the City and to other related external businesses and governmental agencies as necessary.
15. Work as a cooperative and supportive member of the Human Resources team.
16. Provide the best possible customer service to the public and employees.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED.
Four years of general office experience to include public contact.
Ability to read, speak and write in Spanish is preferred.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES
Possession of a valid driver’s license.

Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
